No big blue bits today so just a snatched 15 frame disc and no close-ups ...

Nearly didn't get anything as I somehow managed to mangle the mini-usb port on the camera when setting up ... ... luckily I have a backup and the very nice man at WEX confirmed that it would be repaired under warranty so a day trip to Norwich tomorrow ...

Very nice, Steve  Good luck with the camera fix. No Sun for me today, the clouds played a few little games pretending they were going to clear up a bit, but it didn't quite happen for my level of speed!

Well the cunning plan worked well ... got a right result with the camera ....

Was going to be a £70+ fix , no problem it was covered by warranty , but it meant being without a spare for three weeks and the possibility that they'd write it off and just give me a credit note.

They had another 1000D body in stock listed at £106 , so I suggested a deal on that to save them a hefty repair bill , came away with it for £56 and kept the other one into the bargain ...

Shall keep that one for everyday use as it's fine apart from the usb port , will just do as Joe Public does and shoot onto SD cards with it ...

Missed out on a Solar session despite carting the kit up to Norwich and then down the east coast looking for some forecast brightness , don't think the cloudbase got above 200' feet anywhere ...

Ended up with a flying visit to Haw Wood to say hello at the Breckland Astro star party.

A bit early really but met a couple of guys with enormous Dobs , I really hope it clears up for all concerned as it was a little grim looking when I left.

A good day all in all , I'll just have to get over missing a disc , first gap since the 4th so mustn't grumble I suppose ...  :p
