Fantastic image of mars!

I also had a go on the 18th using DBK21AU618AS on a C8 with a 3x ED barlow and TS IR/UV filter. I used Firecapture Y800 raw capture, then debayered it using firecapture debayer "bilinear".

Yours is so much better!  Anyone tell me why my image is sooooo turquoise?

Stunning. Which camera did you use.

Excellent detail and processing Simon. I reckon you're setting the benchmark for C9.25 Mars images of late :) Could I ask are you using the DMK with filters or DFK ?

Cheers Michael - Alan  the dmk + baader filters!

I've been thinking of going down the mnono+filters route and images like the one you have produced here further convince me that this is the way to go .... just need to convince the banker !

You really are nailing Mars Simon! Processing, collimation and focus all look bang on. Makes me wonder if my scope is not quite collimated 100% as you are getting finer detail or maybe its just better scope optics?

I'm thinking the same about my scope too!

How many frames did you take and what was the frame rate please Si?

How many frames did you finally use?

Hi Matt- 60fps R- 30fps G - B = 7000- 3500-3500! 50% stack in AS!2 I sometimes use Pipp to clean up avis! approx. 4000 frames stacked!

Cheers Peter appreciated!

Once more, another great set of images Simon. Lovely processed renditions of little red.

                                                Best regards,

An image taken on the night of the 18th, avi processed in pipp to remove the blury frames, stacked in AS!2 & finished in ps!

Lovely images, Simon! Excellent work.

Could you elaborate on the PIPP part for removing blurry images? Did you use the enable quality estimation feature and, if so, which algorithm did you select?

Well done again!

Thanks

Steve
