Help with a canon on a cpc 800

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just for some advice please. I am fitting my canon directly to the back of my cpc scope using the celestron sct adaptor. Should I need to fit a focal reducer in line between the camera and the scope and if I were to go for the1/25 t adaptor to put the camera in via the diagonal would that be too much weight stress. With my old newt I could compensate the weight differential, but on the cpc I am a little lost with what back weight is on the scope. Thanks for any help.

I added a front counterweight to my CPC800 to help with the balance. It is not too much weight. What I did find was at zenith my camera body was VERY close to hitting the mount base. Putting the whole thing on a wedge solved that issue.
