Anyone else going out imaging tonight.

Skies are looking good for tonight and since I hopefully have my issues sorted out with DSS, I can finally start taking lots of subs for stacking.

Targets for tonight are M13, M101, M39, and possibly M57.

Probably won't get all of them imaged but depending on time and where I decide to setup the scope these are the list I will go by. (of course 9 out of 10 times I end up winging it

Might also do some planetary work on Saturn and Mars.

Anyone else heading out and what's your target(s) for tonight?

I'd rather have 1 target on my list and get as much imagimg time on it as possible...better to have 1 really good image (by my standards) rather than lots of okay images...

Only my opinion of course.

I am actually out right now imaging, don't care that the moon is about to rise. If we had to wait for perfect conditions we'd wait for ever in this soggy country.

Just taken 18 lights and 16 darks of the Leo Triplet, 60 sec at iso 800 which is all the LP will let me get, though it's well off centre. Must sort out my alignment.

May have a go at M51 but I think the moon may be coming to spoil the party.

I have a few of the the targets listed but I will be setting up the scope in the backyard for the first time since getting it now that the snow is gone. I was out for a bit walking around looking for a suitable spot that will give me the best views of the sky so I will choose something on the list that will be the most and longest visible.

I thought I'd try something a little different since a few people have been talking about Panstarrs. So towards the end of the night I looked it up on Stellarium and punched it into the handheld.

I think I might have got it.

I was out last night (The 19th) but PHD started playing up, said it couldn't "hear" the port for server, though it had been fine up to then. Just threw a hissy-fit I suppoose. Though I think I've managed to get EQMOD and CdC go to-ing reasonably well.

But I gave up as the sky was totally rubbish. That's the trouble with London, the longer we go without rain the more clag there is in the air to backscatter the LP.

It's been chucking it down lately, windy too but the forecast for tonight looks clear amazingly, so I'll be giving it a go. Leo Triplet and maybe M51.

M51 and the triplet are quickly becoming my favorite targets.

Frustration!

It had been clear as I set up, I found a plastic tray to put the mains extension lead on (The garden was soaked), went to have tea while I waited for dark.

When I went out, lo-and-behold cloud had rolled back in. Argh! Metcheck and weatherweb both suggested that rain was a possibility even though Auntie Beeb was still saying clear, so I brought everything back in again without having even turned the mains on.

Of course, when I got up this morning it was a beautiful blue sky morning.

I need an obsy.

ARGH!

Heading out in an hour or so. Hoping to get out to a dark(ish) site. Planning on getting in some visual viewing right at dark and then using my webcam, imaging Jupiter, Mars, and possibly Saturn. Then going to spend some time on M101 and given time, M27 or 57.

Hopefully I will have better luck tonight that I did last night. After getting all setup and ASPA showing 0's across the board, for whatever reason my GOTO was way off and clouds rolled in.

Hi from a very wet and foggy North East. It's not going to be much better for the next few days either, according to the forecast. Well I suppose I expected it as I've just bought a ST80 to use for auto guiding and it never fails - new kit and next comes the rain - ho hum.
