Backyard EOS drift alignment

Tried drift alignment tonight and failed miserably.

Just don't get the written instructions. There doesn't seem to be any youtube videos and i'm quite a visual learner.

I understand pointing to different areas to adjust either alt or az but the reticule baffles me.

How do you know what way to rotate it?

try putting your finger under or on the side and watching the star - it'll show you which way you need to go - either same or opposite where you pushed!!

As Steve's post........you don't need to bother with the reticule.

Just find a star in the relavent place and take the exposures.

One of a few I did on a semi cloudy night.

The top brighter line goes off the sensor and comes back along the same path.

Thanks I gave these a try and managed to get a good alignment....very useful and much easier than backyard
