Mars viewer app

I used to use a small app/programme which would show what face of Mars was showing at a particular date and time. I would use it to correlate what I had observed so that I could identify surface markings.

I've searched but cannot find anything that would do the job. Any ideas anyone?

Don't know of a specific Mars app but Sky Safari does this (and is on offer until 15 Apr), plus both CalSky and Sky & Telescope websites will show you this too.

...and CalSky (http://www.calsky.com/cs.cgi/Planets/5/1?obs=19057848055763) actually allows you to enter your size of telescope so suitably blurs the features to give you a reasonable representation of what you might see!

Brilliant! I will probably end up using Calsky. I had forgotten about that site and how handy it can be.

Haha yes, the only time I've ever posted that blurring is a positive thing!

I suppose smearing butter on the computer screen might achieve the same effect to replicate some of the terrible seeing we have in the UK sometimes!

There's mars globe on the App Store it's free just downloading now
