my friend has unearthed a Bushnell telescope from her childhood possessions which she now wishes to pass on to her son. The instrument appears to be complete apart from the eyepieces (ocular lenses). These seem to be unavailable in the shops. Can anyone help? The telescope is a model 78-9003.

Hi eastaway and welcome to the forum. I'm not familar with the scope you listed in your message but I have managed to locate a PDF file of the instructions that came with the scope for you to look at. What is clear from the wording at the bottom of the front page listed as point 3, is that the original eyepieces that came with the scope are .925". This is not the current size used in todays scope but I believe there are adapters that can be bought to upgrade the size the focuser can accept.

Clear skies for now and enjoy the forum

James

Edit: Just noticed Fozzle has provided a link to the adaptor.
