West Sussex Observing Group - social meet up

Recommended Posts

Hi all - with weather hopefully improving and interest gathering from new people, do we have any dates soon when we can socially meet to discuss the up and coming year and plan our observing (as much as we can with the random weather!!) - such as where, contact details, that sort of thing....

We've met once at a pub in Cowfold before moving to the main observing site we had. The first time we got together was at the Hornbrook Inn on the Brighton Road in Horsham. We could just do an en-mass meet up there for a drink and gas then work out forth coming stuff to do?

How does next Thursday 16th at the Hornbrook sound? Unfortunately I can't make the Friday or weekend. Just for a put name to face and stuff?

Thanks for the get together, was great. Nice to meet you all.

Tomorrow evening looks really good to get out the house warmish and dry (4c)

I was thinking of investigating this spot in the ash down forest. (It is a proper dark spot on the light pollution maps)

I want to run my mount through a new polar align routine and test some kit anybody else nearby keen or suggest a better spot?

A new supernova has appeared in Messier 82 - although I can't make it tonight, next clear night shall we make a try for multi-scope imaging this??

Nice capture.

I'm thinking about jacking the whole thing in and selling up to upgrade my photography gear.

Its one thing not having a garden but when the weather is so poo I cant get out to use my gear, its depressing.
Its seams like a lot of money just sat there doing nothing.
