Finished at last

After a break in the build, have finally finished the obsy.

When I left it a few months ago it was ok to use ( see older posts) but the walls and floor not finished.

I have now boarded out the walls and roof and used some fibre board to go on the floor, to help stop the cold coming up.

Have also fitted a heater on a timer to stop any possible damp etc, but have had no problems as yet.

It's not the largest or best I have seen on here but it serves me well, it's dry and has enough room to walk around the scope whilst viewing, all powered up and laptop controlled.

Very pleased with myself and helps me use my scope a lot more.

Very nice observatory. Seems cosy and comfortable. LOL - I've got the same Deepsky Chart....it was on the wall in my office and came off suddenly, toppling my coffee mug allover the keyboard :D  Anyway, will be nice to see the outside of the observatory as well?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah it is nice and cosy and the mrs always knows where to find me lol.

Just want the rain to stop now.

Here's some of the outside. The metal sheeting on the roof was an after thought, the normal felted roof I built with not enough fall on it, and with cheap felt started to allow water to come in, so I fixed these on with a greater fall, works really well now and is bone dry, plus makes a stronger roof and not to much more weight, still rolls nice and easy post-8323-138711772332_thumb.jpgpost-8323-138711774117_thumb.jpgpost-8323-138711775223_thumb.jpg

Congrats on obey build - nice one:-) It seems that air circulation within a closed obsy is good for keeping condensation at bay. It's essential in my tiny domed obsy (large domestic fan running continuously on 'slow') + a small electric greenhouse heater on thermostat immediately under the scope drive/ electronic - you can't trash your scope to condensation :-) )))
