It's worth pointing out that the uprated springs are one of the most useful items of all.

Yep - essential for the Lightbridge 12", Revelation 12" or TS 12" dobsonians if you want them to keep their collimation for long.

I've bought Bobs Knobs direct from Bob in the USA for a few scopes over the years and his service is excellent.

I genuinely wish you the best of luck. If you have success (I have tried and given up) then please let me know. TBH my time is too precious to spend hunting around when for the price, someone has done it for me.

You'll struggle to find the right thumb screws in a DIY shed, but you can order them online from a UK supplier and get next day... also totally hassle free. From the thread I've mentioned above:

"I ordered a set of thumb screws for my Celestron HD11 in A4 grade stainless steel from a UK supplier for under five quid - in fact I ordered a set of hex head bolts as well as they had a minimum order value of a fiver...

I got mine from A2A4 fixings and the M3 x 12mm are perfect for my scope - £1.35 each and arrived the next day..."

You pays your money and takes your choice...

Yep, that's it. Five minute job, but then you will need to recollimate.

Errr I don't doubt it, but you can get them three times quicker and at least three times more cheaply also with excellent service direct from a UK supplier.

As I say, you pays yer money...

Hi, I took x6gas' advice and bought from A2A4 and they were delivered the next day and installed in about 5 mins - have the Fastar secondary mount on the cpc 1100, the mount is a little more contoured so a little tricky putting them in but just swapped 1 at a time , I was a little nervous because it was a brand new scope and when I undone the first bolt the whole scondary mirror assembly went really loose - just replaced them 1 by 1 and waited for a clear night to collimate - took about 5 mins and was up and running. Decided to order direct from Bob for the primary. As it worked out around £17 delivered for the 6 knobs, and it would have been around a tenner from the local supplier anyway, and I know what I'm getting...

I'm not convinced of the value of the secondary tho, only 3 knobs and around £14 from Bob and around £6 from local supplier, so less then half price, but 25mm is the biggest and Bob's are 30mm or 35mm?

I've just tried fitting some m4x25 thumb screws to my 300p, the spider on that looks exactly the same as the one on my 200p, and they weren't long enough so I've now ordered some m4x35mm to try.

I'll let you know how they fit but they extra 10mm should be spot on imo.

I've just ordered some for my C8 SCT which is a post 1980 scope so I needed knobs with the old standard 6-32 thread. The PC thumb screws are these but when I tried them, they weren#t long enough so went ahead and ordered them on Sunday, got an email yesterday saying they are being shipped today...should have done this a long time ago as my scope hasn't yet been perfectly collimated up till now so hopefully these will sort it out

Cool, cheers mate. Where did you find them? Biggest I could see on Google was 25mm...

Sounds good if it it and a lot easier to adjust??
