First Sun Image 21 April 2012

Here's my first image of the Sun. Single shot using Prime Focus with Baader Solar Film. Cropped in Photoshop CS5. I've managed to capture some sun spots!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Did you use your Dob & if so did you use full aperture?

Excellent! I think you have done a fabulous job on the first attempt, well done

Exellent first attempt. May I suggest trying to take, say, 40+ frames and stacking them with Registax5 (freeware) - I think you will appreciate the difference it makes!

And just to be picky - use ISO100 and cut the exposure time as much as you can (can't see what camera you have) it will make a huge difference and you will start to pick up the surface granulation.

Thanks! I used a Sony A300 connected to my Dob with T-Adapter/T-Ring (Prime Focus).

Thanks for the tips Bizi, I will try stacking and lowering the ISO and shutter speed.
