Rotating a Newt in the rings

Its 7 inch I have just took one off and measured it for you.

Now - plastic or wood? Might try both!

Wood will absorb some moisture, i used a one metre straight measure from one of the DIY Stores cut it length, it just went under the dome nut on the tube ring hinge point.....

Just ordered some embroidery rings. Hadn't even thought of this, I have just loosened the rings and twisted the tube. Great idea!

I could do with a system to rotate the finder now!

I would like to do the same things has this concept, I like it because the blue ruler is clearing the bolt, so it's not required to recess that bolt inside the tube ring, drilling and everything...  Clever

Does anybody have ideas of a flexible thin flat bar I could use to replace "the big one" ruler there? (I can't find one) Something else flexible, solid and with the right thickness?

@bottletopburly Do you have a picture of the exact thing? 

It gives me another idea also, a rubber stairs mat like this, I could cut a thin strip out of that too

What a brilliant idea an embroidery ring just ordered one of the internet for my 150pds and a lot cheaper, wife was a little confused not another hobby she said...

A similar system to most but I use the capping off conduit as the slip ring. The jubilee clip fits nicely inside the trunk but the OTA ring screw benefits from being countersunk.
