ismangil
Even without a zoom, that price wouldn't get the best optics. With the addition of zooming, it would cut corners so much there wouldn't be any optics left Many experts I researched would say to avoid any zoom binoculars for astronomy as we need the best collimation possible, and it would be very hard to build a zoom mechanism to do so! johntrob
I posted a question about zoom binocs on a couple of forums and was told without any hesitation, do not buy them. Informative link was in one of the responses, www.bigbinocular.com go to binocular info and support click on FAQ and scroll down, other info is good too, and link to "just say no to zoom binoculars". Couple of paragraphs down. And thanks to the person who originally recommended this link on the previous thread,John
