Please watch the videos below to see how this forms

Translation from a Norweigan post on youtube regarding the sighting.

Between 7 and 9 o clock in the morning, december 9, 2009 this strange thing happened in the skies above Norway. Thousands of people saw this, took photos and filmed it and posted to their blogs. It appeared in the east, moving westwards.

It was described as a spiral moving light, completely silent. After about 1 minute or so, the light disappeared and seemed to dissolve, leaving a grey mist/halo expanding, then dissolving. The green/blue lighttrail remained for hours. People describing it as frightening/exciting and beautiful.

Norwegian defence say they dont know what it is. Russians say they have not launched any rockets, neither have the Norwegian Andøya rocketsite.

It is not Aurora borealis, and not a meteor since it remained in the skies for more than 2 minutes. Russian, Swedish and Norwegian rocket sites report they have not fired any rockets.

Nobody knows what this is.

It's starting to make the mainstream media now - going to be quite interesting to see who can come up with an explanation for it.

There are theories saying it's a possible Russian missile launch yet they say it was not them ( well they would ) but it would also be an odd time for anyone to test something like a missile without warning on the same day that Obama arrives in Norway for his peace prize.

It does seem very odd the more I view the footage.

Wow we have the explaination it is the ultra national russians that tried to kill Obama but the good guys stopped them. Hahaha just kidding sounds as the plot of a B-movie.

Sorry couldn't control myself looking for a serious explantion for the sighting. Will post if I find anything

doubt that in that region of the world who would drag a laser show up into scarely populated areas and fire it up for full power making a show high enough to be seen up 800 km away?

Just think it is unlikely ofcouse I could be wrong... On top of that I doubt anyone could put it up without being noticed... In areas like that you know what the neigbour are doing even if he is 10 miles away xD ofcouse you could reg a ship with that kinda equipment but that would be expensive. Think about a ship with a generator to fire lasers like that... Doubt it is cheap.

It's a trans-dimensional rift caused by an itinerant anti-matter particle. They're usually self-limiting.

Well, that's what this guy from the blue police box told me earlier today...

May be it could have a weather balloon gone up in smoke. Other than that it was probably Alistair Darling letting off steam before his budget speech.

Looks like this is the culprit ( RSM-56 Bulava - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) although as yet the Russians are denying it.

""On December 9th a new test was conducted, another failure was a fact. The traces after the missile could be tracked from most of Norway, Sweden and Finland, though the russians denied their test launch. A coded message was picked up from a russian fishingboat, at the Navtex center in UK with revealing coordinates."

Its certainly very odd, although the way it behaves looks
alot more graceful than from some man made ballistic
missile.

Maybe its planet X

i highly doubt it would be a rocket spinning out of control because the motion of it is soo perfect if you know what i mean it stays at the same motion and a rocket would probably go all over the place, and i thought the hadron collider ran underground not in the air?? haha its 1 crazy thing that happened i wish i saw it with my own eyes lol if some1 was looking at it with a telescope that would give a lot of answers lol

I think, give it a week and the Russians will finally admit it was them, testing the new missile. Looks like they haven't ironed out the ongoing problems yet !!!

I was reading a article a few day ago (which some might find it interesting) and i think it has a significance to the this news story.
The Legends of UFO Crashes at Spitzbergen, Norway, 1946 & 1952
There have been numerous legends about UFO crashes; some of them have quite a bit of documentation and eyewitness testimony. Others are based mostly on legend and folklore.
Two of the cases based primarily on legend involve the same place, Spitzbergen, Norway, but these two cases have different dates, 1946 and 1952.
There is just not enough verifiable evidence to support either of these events, and here are the reasons;

1946 Spitzbergen UFO Crash

The 1946 case, more than anything else, is memorable for its characters. The legend goes something like this; In 1946, General James H. Doolittle was sent to Sweden by the Shell Oil Company, supposedly to investigate the mystery of the "Ghost Rockets." Why an oil company would investigate UFOs is beyond my understanding. Unless they felt they could strengthen their profits somehow.
Somehow, he supposedly wound up in Spitzbergen. There are a number of Internet sites which claim that there was a short lived article published in America of a UFO crash in the Norwegian city about this time. Some people claim to have seen the article. The really odd thing about the tale of this case is the question must be asked what does Doolittle have to do with anything, since he is only mentioned as being in the area, and that is the end of his involvement.
The only redeeming part of this particular case is that it was reported by Dorothy Kilgallen, celebrity for her years appearing on the "What's My Line?" TV game show. She claimed that someone in the upper echelon of the British government informed her that a UFO had crashed near Spitzbergen, and was under investigation by the British and American military. Supposedly, this informant was Lord Mountbatten.
Some investigators claim that since no mention of the name Spitzbergen was found in the reports, that the location's mention was to cover up a crash in Great Britain. A crash in Great Britain during the same time period has no basis in fact either.

In addition to being a game show regular, Kilgallen also was a journalist of a sort, having written "gossip columns," but she also was well known for covering hard current events. She had covered the headline grabbing Lindbergh kidnapping story. In the 1950s, she had covered one of the top stories of her time, the Sam Sheppard murder trial.
Her last real claim to fame was in the 1960s when she got an interview with Lee Harvey Oswald killer Jack Ruby. This interview was carried by the "Los Angeles Examiner." She told friends that she had information that would "break the case wide open."
On 8th November, 1965, Dorothy Kilgallen, was found dead in her New York apartment. She was fully dressed and sitting upright in her bed. The police reported that she had died from taking a cocktail of alcohol and barbiturates. The notes of her interview with Ruby and the article she was writing on the case had disappeared. Luckily, she had given a friend a draft of her interview. Kilgallen was probably fearful for her own life, since several other writers who had worked on the Oswald / Ruby case had died under "unusual circumstances."
Kilgallen's reputation and notoriety was the only thing that kept the weak story of the Spitzbergen crash of 1946 alive. The last hope of further research into the Norwegian crash died along with her, as her sources were never verified.
Spitzbergen 1946 by B J Booth

1952 Spitzbergen UFO Crash

The other Spitzbergen crash story first appeared in the German newspaper *********Saarbr*********cker Zeitung********* in June 1952. The article, entitled "Auf Spitzbergen landete Fliegende Untertasse", was soon picked up by several other German newspapers, with many of them citing *********The Stuttgarter Tagerblatt********* as the original source.
The story was that jets of the Norwegian Air Force spotted a crashed UFO while flying over Spitzbergen on maneuvers. The craft was disc-shaped with a series of jets around the rim of the disc to make it spin.
According to the first article about the crash, the craft was an unmanned, remote-controlled vehicle with Russian writing on the controls, but as the story was embroidered with each retelling, it soon acquired seven alien crewmen who were burned to death in the crash.
