Default Mounts - 5th February 2012, 01:28 PM

Hi,
Is there a mount available which could hold two telescopes side by side? Perhaps you could let me have your suggestions as to which mounts would be suitable to hold my current TeleVue 76 telescope and an alternative telescope. Which would have settings to track the sun for about at least 20 minutes to enable video footage to be taken. It would be helpful if it could also easily be polar aligned. I would assume that the mount would have to be quite sturdy and weight balanced.

Regards,
Anthony.

basacally any mount will do providing it can hold the weight of the scopes (for that i would say eq6 neq 6? but i probally wrong there)

also one of these would help

Altair TMS - Vixen Synta Dovetail Bar*::*Mounting hardware*::*Altair Astro would need the dovetail 2 clamps and 2 small dovetails.

also anthony, any chance you can change the colour of the text, its very close to the skin of the forum and makeing it a little difficult to read (im a little dyslexic)

For solar imaging you don't actually need to be equatorial because the rotation is slight in short captures and the software de-rotates it anyway. iOptron do mini tower mounts which can carry a scope on each side. I like the look of these and they were well reviewed in Astronomy Now by a first class reviewer. I haven't actually tried one.
