Default New Scope, First Lunar image... - 5th February 2012, 01:05 PM

Finally the clouds parted, so I could get the new scope set up.

Nexstar 6SE impressed me immediately, easy to set up, align and use. (having struggled with a non driven EQ2 mount for years, it may be an ALT-AZ, but it's been like a new dawn for me!)

The seeing wasn't the greatest, as it was taken from my back garden - heavily light polluted and in the middle of the suburbs of Newcastle, plus I've still got to learn the ins and outs of Registax.

All in all though, I'm happy with it.

..and so you should be! Really nice image - some people might prefer it with North up but that's easily fixed.
