Picture of the Week 18th July 2010 -
19th July 2010, 09:37 PM
Please bear with me this week, I am so busy at work covering others annual leave that I just dont have the hours available for the usual PoW rundown and showcase.
However, I have faithfully perused all the images posted this last week, and there have been some absolute stunners. Check the deep sky section for Ollypenrice's contributions, I love that M20+M17 large pane image.
And I wouldn't want to overlook this superbly captured lightning sequence, this was a gnats whisker from being my PoW
Lightning strike
But my favourite(s) this week are from Sam (Lightbucket) on the other side of the planet, looking at these pics it's easy to see why you were keen to get home Sam
I can't pick between them both, so Sam gets PoW for both these images this week, (captured with modest kit)
Thanks to all who posted, please keep the pics flooding in, and dont forget to include as many details about equipment, and capture settings etc to help out the newer members.
Cheers
Tim

Well done Sam. the POTW found a good home. New Zealand will be proud of you. Fabulous Images from a fabulous place.
Great choice Tim, and somehow I missed that lightning image, both of them. Powerful, and beautiful images they are.

Well done and well deserved Sam. Both lovely rich images of a sky that very few of us up here have seen in detail.
