After losing Jupiter early on on the 16th, the LX200 was sitting outside doing nothing so I attached my 20Da to it, rebalanced and had a go at the Eagle Nebula (actually I was suprised I could see it at all above the neighbour's forest hedge :x

Set everything off and retired indoors. Next time I checked the fully charged camera battery had decided to not supply any more power to the camera and I had just a handful of shots in the bag. I only had 10 reasonable images (all were unguided) to play with unfortunately...



Just out of interest, I used one of my earliest CCD images (circa summer 2002 IIRC) of the Eagle to add into the mix. Here are my early images (don't laugh!) http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/ccd/old_vs_new.html and here is the combined result...

ah yes , thats alovely image Pete,looking great , always like this neb , cant get it now as a huge tree blocks most of the south low down ,
