Nice looking setup! What's the internal diameter of that dome? I'm about to build one to accommodate a similar scope and wondered how the ergonomics are :)

Hi Tim,

It's 98 inches in Dia ... The full dimensions are listed on the Sky shed pod site. As for ergonomics .. I spent a lot of time on my knees viewing Cygnus lol.

The whole dome could do with being taller to accommodate a larger pier, it's a bit of a tight squeeze.

Yeah, mine will be very similar so guess I'll be on my knees too :) Guess that's the problem with long scopes like refractors. Do you have carpet on the floor? I'd like to have, but am a bit worried about dew and damp. Right now I'm on my knees on wet boards on the balcony we use for observing so the idea of an enclosed observatory with a carpet floor seems like the lap of luxury!

Hi Tim,

No it's a Lino membrane, the pier is bolted directly to the  concrete, a low deck onto which the  Pod sits   with a Lino membrane between the two, sealed on the inside of the Pod ... stops the moisture.

Carpet might be a thought, kinder to the knees! or knee pads lol.
