Default quick first light report - 4th July 2009, 12:49 AM

I could not resist setting up tonight even although it was not really dark. So I finally got first light with the SCT!!! Took me a couple of mins to collimate the scope (Thanks to Bob's knobs)and I was off to Jupiter.....WOW..... What a sight, I could clearly see 2 bands on the planet as well as 4 moons - what a cracking first light sight!
I had a look at Ablireo and the ring and dumbell nebulas then called it a night - just as well as dew was staring to form as I have not got a dew band or cover yet.
Anyway I am off to be now a very happy astronomer!

Hopefully I have done the right thing re. the dew - There was only a very little, more list a slight fog on the corrector so I left the front cover off and stuck it back in the hut. Tomorrow I will pop in and replace the cover.
